Over the past four years, 350 new benches and 750 litter bins have been installed

The municipal works brigade has renewed the street furniture in Plaça Amics de Lleida, located in the Xalets-Humbert Torres area. Four new benches and two chairs have been installed as part of an ongoing programme to refresh street furniture across various locations in the city. This renewal also enhances accessibility, as the new benches feature higher seats and armrests, making it easier for older people and those with mobility issues to stand up. The previous benches in the square were dilapidated and did not comply with accessibility standards.

This work follows improvements carried out this summer by a brigade from the Municipal Employment Institute, which upgraded the perimeter fence and the façade of the Sant Josep de Calassanç school, one of whose entrances faces this square.

During the last four years (2023–26), the municipal works brigade has installed 350 new benches and 750 litter bins to improve the quality of public space.
